Melitzanosalata is a traditional Greek dip with eggplant as its' base ingredient (melitzana in Greek, hence the name). The eggplants are being baked in the oven with onions and then their flesh is put in the blender, along with olive oil, spices and lemon juice. This gives to the Melitzanosalata an amazing spread-like texture that makes it special. It is an extremely healthy dip, as it contains only pure vegetables and olive oil. It is a typical exceptional meze as an appetizer, but you can also spread it on top of your bread because of its' soft texture!
Ingredients: Roasted eggplant 72% (roasted eggplant peeled, salt, vinegar, preservative: potassium sorbate, acidity regulator: citric acid, antioxidant: ascorbic acid), vegetable oil, water, salt, pasteurized egg yolk, minced garlic 0.6%, mustard, vinegar from grape, sugar, smoked food flavoring.
