Shipping policy
Last updated: May 2026
Greek Flavours ships authentic Greek products directly from Greece to customers across Europe and internationally. This page explains our shipping methods, delivery timelines, destination zones, costs, and what to expect after placing your order.
Shipping methods
We use two distinct logistics systems depending on the nature of the products ordered. If your cart contains both ECO and FRESH items, they will be shipped separately — you will receive two tracking emails.
ECO — Ground courier
For dry goods, pantry staples, olive oil, honey, olives, pasta, legumes, and all products shipped at ambient temperature.
- Order preparation: 2–4 business days
- Transit time: 3–5 business days
- Dispatch days: Monday to Friday
- Total estimated delivery: 5–9 business days
FRESH — Chilled air freight
For Greek yogurt, kefir, feta, fresh cheeses, halloumi, and all products requiring an active cold chain. Shipped in insulated boxes with dry ice.
- Order preparation: 2–4 business days
- Transit time: 24–48 hours
- Dispatch days: Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday only
- Total estimated delivery: 3–6 business days
FRESH air-only — Express air, no cold chain
For fresh Chasiotis pita bread and traditional pastries (portokalopita, galaktoboureko). Shipped via express air for freshness of product. No thermal box or dry ice is used.
- Order preparation: 2–4 business days
- Transit time: 24–48 hours
- Dispatch days: Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday only
- Total estimated delivery: 3–6 business days
FRESH dispatch rule — all year round: All FRESH products (both chilled and air-only) are dispatched exclusively on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. This ensures delivery before the weekend and avoids unnecessary delays in carrier warehouses. This rule applies 12 months a year.
Destinations
European Union
We ship to all EU member states including Italy, France, Germany, Spain, Portugal, Netherlands, Belgium, Austria, Poland, Czech Republic, Hungary, Romania, Croatia, Slovenia, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Ireland, and Luxembourg.
All three shipping methods are available — ECO, FRESH chilled, and FRESH air-only. No customs duties apply within the EU single market.
Switzerland and United Kingdom
We ship to Switzerland and the United Kingdom via express air only. ECO ground shipping is not available for these destinations.
Customs clearance applies. Import duties and local taxes may be charged by the carrier upon delivery. These costs are not included in your order total and are the responsibility of the recipient. We recommend checking your country's import regulations for food products before placing an order.
International — Rest of the World
We ship internationally to selected countries outside Europe. The United States is our primary international market. We also ship to Canada, Australia, and other selected countries.
Express air shipping only. Customs clearance and import duties apply and vary by country. Applicable charges are the responsibility of the recipient at the time of delivery.
Customs note: Greek Flavours ships on a DDU (Delivered Duty Unpaid) basis to all destinations outside the European Union. This means any applicable import duties, taxes, or customs clearance fees are not included in your order total.
Seasonal shipping rules
Summer — extreme heat
When weather forecasts show temperatures above 35–40°C at the delivery address, FRESH chilled shipments are temporarily suspended for affected postal codes. You will receive an automatic notification with the expected resumption date. This is a product protection measure, not a service limitation.
FRESH air-only products — fresh pita bread and pastries — are not subject to heat-related shipping pauses and can be ordered throughout the summer months.
December — holiday period
The Monday–Wednesday dispatch rule for FRESH products remains unchanged throughout December. A guaranteed delivery cut-off date for Christmas orders is communicated every year via email and with a countdown on the website.
Free shipping thresholds
Free shipping activates automatically at checkout when your order reaches the threshold for your market. No discount code is required.
- Italy, Spain, Germany: free shipping on orders above €119
- Rest of Europe (EU): free shipping on orders above €139 — applies to France, Netherlands, Belgium, Austria, and all other EU markets
- Switzerland, United Kingdom, and international destinations: shipping costs are calculated at checkout based on destination and order weight. Free shipping thresholds do not apply.
Thresholds apply to the order subtotal before any automatic discounts are applied.
Automatic discounts
Two discount mechanics are always active. No promotional codes are required — both apply automatically at checkout when the conditions are met.
- New customer discount — 5%: applied automatically on your first order with Greek Flavours. Recognition is handled via email at checkout.
- Order above €150 — 5%: applied automatically on every order above €150, regardless of customer status.
Both discounts are stackable. A new customer placing their first order above €150 will automatically receive an effective 10% discount at checkout.
Order tracking
Once your order is dispatched, you will receive an email with your tracking number and a direct link to the carrier's tracking page.
- Order confirmed: confirmation email sent immediately after purchase
- Order in preparation: 2–4 business days — no separate notification during this phase
- Order dispatched: email with tracking number sent on the day of dispatch
- Estimated delivery: visible in the carrier's tracking portal using your tracking number
For FRESH orders, the dispatch email is sent on the same day as the air departure from Greece.
Damaged or incorrect orders
If your products arrive damaged or not as ordered, please contact us at customers@greekflavours.com with a photo of the issue and your order number. We assess each case individually and work to find the right solution for you.
Every delivery issue is handled directly by our team. Greek Flavours honours its commitments when damage is objectively attributable to shipping or the product itself.
Frequently asked questions
Can I order yogurt and olive oil in the same cart?
Yes — they will be shipped separately. The yogurt departs as a FRESH chilled shipment (Mon–Wed only), the olive oil via ECO ground. You will receive two separate tracking emails.
Does fresh pita bread need refrigeration in transit?
No. Chasiotis pita is shipped FRESH air-only — express air for product freshness, without an active cold chain. No thermal box or dry ice is used.
Can I receive chilled products in summer?
Generally yes. FRESH chilled shipments are suspended only on days when forecasts show temperatures above 35–40°C at the delivery address. FRESH air-only products such as pita and pastries are never suspended during summer.
I live in the UK — what should I expect?
We ship to the UK via express air only. Customs clearance and import duties apply and are not included in your order total. These charges are collected by the carrier upon delivery. We recommend checking the UK's current import regulations for food products before ordering.
I am in the US — can I order?
Yes. We ship to the United States via express air freight. Customs duties and import taxes apply and vary depending on the products ordered. These costs are collected by the carrier upon delivery and are the responsibility of the recipient.
Does my 5% discount apply automatically?
Yes. If it is your first order, the discount is recognised via email at checkout — no code needed. If the order exceeds €150, the 5% applies automatically regardless of your customer status. Both discounts are stackable.
When do I receive my tracking number?
Via email on the day of dispatch. For FRESH orders, this is the same day as the air departure from Greece.
