Product Description

Cretan Dakos Rusks are more than crispbreads — they are a cornerstone of Crete’s everyday food culture. Made following a time-honoured recipe, these large rustic rusks are crafted from wholegrain barley flour, naturally leavened with sourdough and slowly baked to achieve a firm yet porous texture.

 

Each 600g pack contains approximately 13 large rusks, designed to absorb extra-virgin olive oil and fresh ingredients without breaking apart. Once lightly moistened, they become the perfect base for simple, nutrient-dense Mediterranean meals.

 

Dakos are ideal for quick lunches, light dinners or as a structured alternative to bread in a balanced Mediterranean diet.

 

Suggested Pairings & Uses

  • Classic Cretan Dakos: fresh chopped tomatoes, crumbled Greek feta, dried oregano, and extra-virgin olive oil
  • Mediterranean Reset Meal: strained Greek yoghurt or kefir, cucumber, herbs, and olive oil
  • Protein-Rich Option: sardines or tuna in olive oil, finished with capers or olives
