Product Description

Smoked Metsovo is one of Greece’s most iconic smoked cheeses: a semi-hard, pale golden cheese, matured and naturally smoked over beech wood, following traditional methods with no industrial shortcuts.

Produced in Epirus, in the mountains around Metsovo, from pasteurised Greek cow’s milk, it develops a bold aromatic profile with deep smoky notes, a subtle peppery edge, and a firm, compact texture that slices cleanly and holds its shape in the pan.

This is not a cheese for neutral palates. It’s intense, persistent, and full of character. Traditionally paired with structured red wines such as Xinomavro, it shines on gourmet cheese boards, in oven-baked dishes, or grilled and pan-fried straight from the pack, with no extra preparation needed.

Why you’ll love it

  • Naturally smoked over real beech wood for an authentic aroma
  • Bold, smoky flavour with a slightly spicy finish
  • High in protein, satisfying, and full-bodied
  • Ready to grill or pan-fry exactly as it arrives
  • A great match for robust red wines
