Organic lentils from Greece, grown without synthetic inputs and packed dry in 500 g.
Small, quick-cooking and full of flavour, they hold their shape in soup and break down beautifully in a purée. Traditionally they go into fakes, the Greek lentil soup with tomato, onion, bay leaf and a generous pour of olive oil, and they work just as well in salads or alongside rice.
A staple of the everyday Greek table, from Crete to Ikaria.
How to cook them
- In the classic Greek fakes soup, with tomato, onion and olive oil
- Warm in salads with red onion, feta and vinegar
- Alongside rice, or folded into grain bowls
- Puréed into a thick spread with garlic and lemon
